NUTRITION COUNSELING SERVICES

Pediatrics
We understand the challenges families face in sharing nutritious and joyful meals. We work closely with you to create strategies that meet each child’s unique needs.
Whether your child is struggling with sensory sensitivities as a result of autism spectrum disorder, gaining adequate weight, pediatric feeding disorder, ARFID, lowering cholesterol, picky eating, getting enough calcium, iron, fiber, etc. we are here to help.
We believe that:
- It’s important to approach feeding challenges with curiosity and compassion, not blame.
- Sensory sensitivities are real and valid. We honor each child’s unique experience with food and work to create a positive, pressure-free feeding environment.
- Nutrition is important and so is mealtime stress. We help families find balance between nourishment and peace at the table.
- Your concerns about your child’s growth are valid. We go beyond just the numbers to understand the whole child, including their genetics, environment, medical history, and unique developmental journey.
Testimonials
“Valentina is knowledgeable, thorough and kind! I looked forward to every one of our meetings. She always had effective, intelligent recommendations and took the time to explain the nutritional facts behind the choices she was recommending. She eased so much of my stress around feeding my child in a balanced and healthy way, as well as validated some of the things I was already doing. When you have concerns about your child’s nutrition and how it’s affecting their bodies there is always a fine line between addressing the issue without causing unhealthy mental associations with food. That was exactly what Valentina walked me through. She had wonderful, applicable ideas for me to implement immediately that made a big difference my family’s attitudes around food. My child’s bloodwork proved the changes we implemented thanks to her had an enormous effect on some of his levels. I highly, highly recommend her!”
“Valentina has been a wonderful resource in helping our teenage daughter learn the best ways to choose and enjoy food. Over the past year, our daughter has demonstrated increased interest in preparing a balanced and varied lunch the evening before as well as a meal for the family several times a month. I have observed significantly more variety in her food choices and a greater awareness of the nutrition she gains from what she eats. No foods are entirely off-limits in our home. However, since she started meeting with Valentina, our daughter consumes far more fruits and vegetables as well as food she has prepared herself – a few hours ago, I came home to find zucchini blueberry muffins she made to pack for her pre-practice snack this week! Our pediatrician ordered labs before Valentina started working with our daughter; a year ago, she had elevated triglycerides. Last month, they were in the “healthy range.” We are grateful to Valentina and feel she has been a real asset to our daughter and her long term health.”
